I'm so thrilled to announce that I'm one of two 2017 Picture Book Mentees through the We Need Diverse Books organization. My mentor will be none other than author Kevin Lewis, who has some mad skills-- he was with both Simon and Schuster and Disney Hyperion as an Executive Editor... so I'll be in good hands for the entire calendar year! Wow. Astounded, honored, excited... those words just don't have the "oomph" that I need to truly describe how this feels.
