I’ve been fascinated by words and pictures since I was a kid. I grew up an only child, so I spent a lot of my free time alone. My favorite thing to do back then was to write and draw books.

 

A crazy childhood of moving to and fro and hither and yon influenced me to pursue a "practical" degree (advertising design and communications) at a huge public university. Somehow this led to TV and radio copywriting, then new home marketing and sales... followed by nearly two decades (yes, I am THAT old) of writing, designing, and creative directing ads and promotions for business-to-business and consumer-focused companies all over the world. I even wrote an online marketing book that was published by Dearborn Trade in 2001, which still sells on Amazon today.

 

Over the last few years, my focus has been back to kid lit. I write and illustrate my own picture books (and occasionally edit and illustrate books for other authors) and it is, without a doubt, my favorite job EVER.

 

I live outside Atlanta, Georgia with my husband and son... along with Duke (a.k.a. "BIG DOG") and Ginger (the Shih-tzu formerly known as Homeless). We are ALL only children.
